Jon Horowitz’s 14 years of experience at the intersection of higher education communications, technology, and engagement propelled him into his role leading a consulting firm focused on digital strategy for higher education advancement and engagement. Jon is currently the Director of Market Research & Impact Insights for Advancement at Dartmouth College. Jon previously drove digital alumni engagement strategy at Princeton University and Rutgers University. 

With experience as a team leader, strategic planner, project manager, content developer, and producer across the spectrum of digital – including social media, web, email marketing, mobile, video, event communications, presentations, design, engagement tools, online communities, data, and tech support – Jon's panoramic perspective of the digital landscape in higher education advancement and alumni relations is unique. 

As a pioneer in higher education social media, Jon established the Rutgers Alumni social media presence, grew Princeton Alumni social media through sustained engagement and key initiatives, and created the Alumpics, a cross-institutional social media competition held during three consecutive Olympics. With a keen understanding of websites and audience, Jon led launches of re-envisioned websites at both Princeton and Rutgers. His efforts have garnered numerous awards, including CASE Circle of Excellence Awards for social media and websites.

With more than a decade of experience managing alumni online networks and digital engagement platforms, Jon has led daily operations, help desk teams, vendor relationships, and comprehensive projects to overhaul and enhance engagement technology offerings. 

As a thought leader in the digital engagement space, Jon speaks, blogs, and tweets about all things digital as they relate to higher education and advancement. He is also a regular contributor to Higher Ed Live, where he is currently shining a spotlight on innovation in alumni engagement through a series of Q+As with advancement leaders. Jon has also judged the CASE Accolades program and served on the iModules client advisory board.
